How to avoid be sucked dry

Have you had that feeling…… when speaking to some one feels like they are sucking you dry, like you can feel your energy being pulled out of you like water down a drain?

My experience is that some people are simply energy drains….. they only know how to communicate in the negative, they only know how to ask you to solve their problems, without ever seeking to solve the problem themselves.

These people are very externally oriented and their state of being is dictated by what is happening around them.

At some point a decision needs to be made about cutting them loose

How do you deal with people who are energy drains?

Whose beast?

What purpose is courage,
when it is won
and celebrated,
in the misery of others?

Courage,
defined by a choice
to “go in”…
or not go in,
before the need to
to “go in”?

Willingness,
to challenge your fear,
for the purpose,
for the value
of another,
to face fear,
to spite and tame
the beast.

Yet,
you freeze,
in fear,
in the face of the same purpose,
but the absence
of the beast.

Whose beast
needs taming?
